George Washington’s hair sells for $17,000

george-washington-picture.jpg Four locks of hair supposedly snipped from our first president has fetched $17,000 at auction. The hairs were given to Colorado resident Christina Allen by her father, a Philadelphia attorney. Dad says the hair has been passed down by generations of family members pressed between two pieces of glass. The story is that the hair was clipped while GW was disinterred in 1837. Just can’t let sleeping presidents lie, eh? The story prompted me to search my apartment for possibly valuable heirlooms from history. I found Howard Hughes’ toe-nail clippings and Mamie Eisenhower’s million dollar fudge recipe! Wooowee! I’m rich!
