Somewhere, buried among this mess…Inspiration awaits…

Amongst that lush sepia tone and the unmade bed with knickers strewn about, a new day awaits an artist with a fever for fashion..

BedHead: Kim Cathers, 28

Location: Vancouver, British Columba, Canada

Occupation: Fashion Designer

First, let me say that I don’t know a damn thing about fashion. If you could see the way I dress, you would know that right away. But Kim and I have a lot in common. We both dream of rolling out of bed, flipping the creator switch and threading something together to share with the world. It’s not a targted, marketing smart-bomb but rather a feeling, born from the heart. Where it goes? How its used? Who cares? As long as the idea-baby finds a home and is shared by many.

I feel that Kim’s creations have a lot of character. If I saw a woman dressed in her ideas, I might like to bring her ’round to meet the family. After that perhaps, a walk into town for some pumpkin-pie ice cream. Sounds quaint? No. Nothing hits harder than creations that connect. Kim’s kdon collection sells in shops in Vancouver and on her website. I may learn a few things from this BedHeadfrom the Northwest… Read Kim’s Exclusive BedHead Interview to find out..

Rich, dark and tasty BedHead…

Somewhere, out among the medieval ruins in the English countryside, a figure wanders the hills, his camera in his hands and music on his mind. Here’s a BedHead with dark, rich tastes and a bright twinkle in his eye…

BedHead: Paul Broome

Location: Staffordshire, United Kingdom

Occupation: Songwriter, Photographer

Yes, it’s dark and a bit gloomy. But out among the rhythms of Paul’s sound-scape are quietly raging beats that warm you like wool. It’s all about the orchestration I guess. You see, Paul doesn’t just record music, he weaves it. Its a world where guitars and synths seem indistinguishable from each other, surrounding a voice that sort of reminds me of Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode, only stronger.

Of course, there’s another side of Paul. There’s the images he captures. Not all dark and serious at all. His art is whimsical, often majestic. He’s a dark and creative force and I’m about to shine the BedHead light on him in this Exclusive BedHead Interview….

You like-a some eggs?

Yeah…We like-a some eggs. We like ‘em cooked up real nice. Whatta ya got there, tootsie?

BedHead:Leora Zellman

Location: Chicago, Ill, USA

Occupation: Blogger, Photographer, Model

Well whatever it is, you better scarf it down fast because this chick has a lot going on. She’s a blogger, a photographer and a model. She blogs so fast, she does it by blackberry. When I attempted to get the details for this particular dish in this particular BedHead photo, I got a slap-dash recipe that went something like this:

“…the omelet had cheese, onion, broccoli, egg, balsamic
vinegar, garlic…i think that’s it…maybe sage? Salt
and pepper?…”

I don’t know, I wasn’t there. Right. Don’t worry… Thankfully, I have a little time on my hands so I’ll re-create this omelette from the photographic evidence and perhaps tell you a bit more about Leora Zellman…After the jump…

Sorry, we don’t do Bedheads…

…And that’s okay. There’s plenty to love about Mexican wrestling masks. So mysterious, no? Yes…Downright strange, yet still somehow wonderful. There’s an alter ego in all of us but who among the masked masses are willing to reveal the other side? Adam does it all the time and the funny thing is, his alter ego actually wears a mask…

Head: Adam Bronkhorst, his wife Alison

Hometown: Brighton, England, UK

Occupation: Real Estate

Adam is something of a rock star on Flickr these days and you can see why. What began as a passing interest in Mexican lucho libre wrestling has become a craze for Flickr users who now wait with bated breath to see Adam’s next shot. But there’s so much more to see behind the mask… Read Adam’s exclusive Bedhead interview for more…

Really? I’m truly excited about that…

…No really, you will be when you get the whole story on this BedHead. What do Hollywood blockbusters, Axl Rose and a famous soft drink have in common? The answer is…Francisco!

Bedhead:Francisco Delatorre

Hometown: Where else? San Francisco, CA USA

Occupation: Feature Film Visual Effects Artist

You don’t know him but you might have seen his work. Francisco helped flood New York City with tidal waves in the Hollywood hit, The Day After Tomorrow. He has also worked on the acclaimed chinese sword-fighting saga, Hero by Zhang Yimou featuring Jet Li. His latest work can be seen in the Disney fantasy-flick, Bridge to Terabithia.

What really caught my attention, aside from this and his most excellent behead was this quote from his Flickr profile:

“…you know how sometimes you want candy but you buy way too much and put the rest away in your stapler drawer or something? and then you forget about it? and then a couple days later you’re all “i need to staple something… HOLY CRAP CANDY!” That’s kind of how i feel a lot.”

Don’t we all?

What also struck me was another bedhead picture that made me kind of want to reach out and help Francisco. It seems he may have a problem with that age-old soft-drink favorite, Dr. Pepper. Now, I know I’m a pepper, you’re a pepper too and all that but there comes a point when the party’s over and if you’re still chasing the pepper dragon, you could have a pepper-problem. If he were king of the forest…

…everything would run on solar energy and fly really, really fast.

BedHead: Adem Rudin, 20

Location: Minneapolis, MN USA

Occupation:Aerospace Engineering Student, University of Minnesota

Meet Adem, the lion-hearted junior at University of Minnesota, and member of U of M’s Solar Vehicle Project. You might have heard of these guys. Every two years, the team builds a car powered completely by solar energy and races it in the Formula Sun Grand Prix and the North American Solar Challenge. Adem is part of the aerodynamics team which is so appropriate given the state of his BedHead in this photo. Truthfully though, Adem tells me that this BedHead was caused by wearing a bandanna for four days but can’t you imagine his head poking out of the top of a solar car at 75 mph? I like that story much better but for the real story, check out Adem’s exclusive BedHead interview after the jump…
